Furniture Buyers in Jumeirah: What Your Furniture Is Worth and How Collection Works
Jumeirah homes hold more furniture per address than almost anywhere else in Dubai, and a lot of it is worth real money. Here is what buyers actually pay, what they turn down, and how a full villa collection runs from the first photo to cash in your hand.
Most people in Jumeirah call a furniture buyer for one of three reasons. The tenancy is ending and the villa has to be empty. The family is leaving the UAE. Or the house is being refurnished and a decade of good furniture needs to go somewhere other than a skip.
Whichever one applies to you, the questions are the same. What is it worth, who actually turns up, and how long does it take. This guide answers those in the order they matter.
The short version
- Clean, complete sets sell. Single damaged pieces mostly do not.
- Expect roughly 20 to 40 per cent of what you paid, higher for solid wood and recognised brands.
- A full Jumeirah villa is normally quoted from photos, then cleared in one visit.
- Nothing should cost you anything. Valuation, dismantling and pickup are free, and payment happens before the van is loaded.
What furniture buyers in Jumeirah actually collect
The honest answer is that we buy whatever can be resold, and the resale market in Dubai is broader than most sellers expect. The pieces that move fastest out of Jumeirah are the ones the area produces in quantity: oversized seating, formal dining, heavy bedroom sets and outdoor furniture that has survived the summer.

In practice a Jumeirah collection is usually some mix of the following:
- Sofas and corner units, including the very large L-shapes that will not fit a normal pickup truck
- Complete majlis seating, floor cushions and Arabic-style sets
- Six, eight and ten seat dining tables with their chairs
- Wardrobes, dressers, bedside tables and full bedroom sets
- Outdoor and garden furniture, including teak and rattan
- Carpets, rugs, mirrors, lighting and decorative pieces
- Fridges, washing machines, cookers and televisions
If it is a whole-house job rather than a few items, the villa and apartment clearance service is the one you want. That covers the pieces with resale value and the ones without, so you hand over an empty property rather than a half-empty one.
What your furniture is worth in Jumeirah
Furniture depreciates faster than most owners expect, and the first year is the steepest. Industry valuation guides put the first-year drop at roughly 15 to 20 per cent, settling to around 8 to 12 per cent a year after that. Upholstered pieces fall faster than solid wood because foam compresses and fabric shows wear.
What that means in resale terms: used furniture in good condition typically changes hands at 20 to 50 per cent of its original retail price, and a clean sofa sits nearer the upper half of that band. Below are the ranges we quote most often. Treat them as a starting point, not a price list.
| Item | Typical offer range | What moves the number |
|---|---|---|
| Three seat fabric sofa | AED 300 to 900 | Frame condition, stains, whether cushions hold shape |
| Large L-shape or corner unit | AED 600 to 2,000 | Size, brand, whether the set is complete |
| Leather sofa set | AED 700 to 2,500 | Cracking and peeling are the killers |
| Full majlis seating | AED 1,200 to 4,500 | Sold as one lot, condition of the fabric |
| Six seat dining set | AED 400 to 1,500 | Solid wood beats veneer by a wide margin |
| Wardrobe, four door | AED 300 to 1,100 | Whether it dismantles without damage |
| King bed with mattress | AED 250 to 900 | Mattress condition, headboard style |
| Fridge or washing machine | AED 150 to 700 | Working order, age, brand |
Sets beat singles, every time. A dining table on its own is a hard sell. The same table with its six chairs is a product. If you are tempted to sell the good chairs separately first, do not. You will lower the value of everything that is left.
Why villa contents are priced differently to apartments
Jumeirah is a villa district. Jumeirah 1, 2 and 3 run along the coast between Al Wasl Road and the beach, and the housing is mostly independent villas and low-rise compounds rather than towers. Umm Suqeim, immediately south, is the same picture. That changes the economics in two ways.
The first is volume. A four bedroom villa with a formal living room, a family room and a majlis holds three to four times the furniture of a two bedroom apartment in Business Bay. Larger lots are worth more in total and are usually quoted as one number rather than piece by piece.
The second is access, and this one works in your favour. There is no service lift to book, no building management permit to chase and no lift padding deposit to get back. A team can park on the driveway and carry straight out. Apartment collections in towers need a move-out permit from building management, and many buildings ask for a refundable deposit of AED 500 to 2,000 against damage to common areas. Villas skip all of that, which is why villa jobs can usually be booked at shorter notice.

How a Jumeirah collection runs, start to finish
- Send photos. One wide shot per room, plus close-ups of anything damaged. Photos beat descriptions by a long way, and they are the difference between a real quote and a vague one.
- Get a price. For a few items this comes back the same day. For a full villa we may ask for a short visit to confirm, particularly if there are built-in units or heavy wood.
- Agree a slot. Most Jumeirah jobs are booked within one to three days. If your handover date is fixed, say so early.
- Dismantling and loading. Beds, wardrobes and large dining tables come apart on site. That is included, not an extra.
- Cash before loading. The agreed amount is paid before anything goes into the van. If something is materially different from the photos we discuss it then, not afterwards.

Jumeirah 1, 2 and 3, and the areas around them
Jumeirah runs as three numbered sub-communities along the coast. Jumeirah 1 sits closest to the city, near Jumeirah Mosque and La Mer. Jumeirah 2 is the middle stretch behind Jumeirah Beach Road. Jumeirah 3 runs down towards Umm Suqeim and the Burj Al Arab side. All three are covered, and so are the surrounding pockets that people usually lump in with Jumeirah when they call:
- Umm Suqeim 1, 2 and 3
- Al Wasl and Al Safa
- Al Manara and Al Thanya
- City Walk and La Mer apartments
If you are just over the boundary it makes no practical difference. Al Barsha and Dubai Marina are both covered on the same terms, and you can see the full list on the areas we cover page. Full details for this district sit on the used furniture buyers in Jumeirah page.
What we cannot buy, and what to do with it
Being straight about this saves everybody a wasted trip. The usual refusals are:
- Broken particle board. Flat-pack that has already been moved once and has swollen or crumbling board has no resale value and cannot be dismantled cleanly a second time.
- Heavily stained mattresses. Hygiene is the whole market for a used mattress. Stains, odours or any sign of bed bugs and it is finished.
- Built-in units. Fitted wardrobes and fixed kitchen cabinetry usually belong to the landlord, and removing them can cost you your security deposit.
- Water damaged wood. Once a joint has swollen it will not hold again.
For anything genuinely finished, Dubai Municipality runs a free bulky waste collection. You can book it on 800900 or through the DubaiNow app, and pickup is usually within about three days. Items need to be at ground level near the building entrance, and the crews will not carry things down from an apartment. In a Jumeirah villa that is straightforward.
Selling before your tenancy ends
The mistake that costs people money is leaving it to the last week. Under Dubai tenancy rules, changes to a contract need 90 days notice before expiry, so most tenants know their exit date months ahead. Furniture buyers get busiest between June and August, when roughly seven in ten families time their move around the school year, and again from September into November as new contracts start.
Two weeks before handover is comfortable. Two days is not, because you lose all negotiating room and you are competing for the same slots as everyone else on a month-end lease. If your dates are already fixed, book the collection now and confirm the slot later.
Common questions
Do you charge for pickup or dismantling in Jumeirah?
No. Valuation, dismantling and pickup are free, and they are not deducted from the price. The figure quoted is the figure paid.
How quickly can you collect from a Jumeirah villa?
Most collections are booked within one to three days of agreeing a price. Villas are quicker to schedule than apartments because there is no service lift or building permit to arrange.
Will you buy just one sofa, or does it have to be the whole house?
Single items are fine, though larger lots are worth more per trip and are easier to price well. If you only have one or two pieces, send photos and you will get an honest answer either way.
How is the price decided?
Condition first, then brand, then whether the set is complete, then how easily the piece resells in Dubai. Solid wood and recognised brands hold value best. Flat-pack that has already been moved once holds it worst.
Do you buy appliances at the same time?
Yes. Fridges, washing machines, cookers, air conditioners and televisions are bought alongside furniture, on the same visit and in the same payment.
What if I am not in the villa on collection day?
That is common with people who have already flown out. A friend, a housemaid or the building watchman can hand over, and payment can be settled by bank transfer instead of cash if you prefer.
If you want the whole thing dealt with in one visit, send photos to Ahmad Used Furniture Buyers on WhatsApp and you will have a price the same day.
